"Call me Knives."
Sonkei nods to her, then looks back at Ev. "Well we can be quite a shock to behold i suppose. But you say you're from around here?" Sonkei grabs the piece of blue cloth hanging nearby, shakes it flat and ties it around his waist until it's a sort of long, smooth skirt that opens in the front.

Ev nods back in the affirmative. "Grew up in a small human village around here. It's been awhile since I've been back home though, coming back from down south.'

[Author]

"Ah," he responds as he attaches a belt with two curved blades.

"All of you?"

"Knives and I are from Reyland, human nation just south of here."

"I see," he says, hopping down 20 or so feet to the ground before Evelynn. "But you're not human, are you?" he asks, and sniffs the air. "Ah, winterkin!" He declares, and offers his paw.

"Good nose." Ev replies with a smile, taking his paw in her hand and giving him a firm shake. "It's on my fathers side. Mothers just a plain ol' human, though don't let her catch you saying that. She could kill a troll with a frying pan."

[Author]

"Heh, no wonder you father took a liking to her."
"So are your kind associated with the winter faeires?" Theo asks.
"Of course! Cats were handpicked by the winter queen as the most beautiful of nature's hunters." Knives lets out a small snort. "What?"
"I just find the arrogance in that funny."
"Hmph. You're certainly not afraid to speak your mind..." he narrow his eyes "I suppose i respect that..."
"Eh, that certainly lines up with what i've read about Mab," Theo interjects, "Queen of hunters, has a thing for grace, style, individual competition and pride..."
Sonkei turns to Theo, "My, you certainly know a lot about the queen for a human."
"Knowing things is my specialty." Sonkei nods approvingly, then shoots Knives another glance, who blows up on her bangs.

Eve fails to repress a giggle at Knives and Sonkei, clasping her hand around her mouth and trying to stifle it instead.

Sonkei crosses his arms and raises an eyebrow, looking at Ev. "You too?"

[Artemis]

"No! -haha- no I'm not laughing at you... heh... well, not just you. Theo's going to hate me for saying this but-hehehe-" Ev lets out a content sigh then passes her gaze over Knives and Sonkei. "I just can't wait to watch you two hate-fuck. It'll be hilarious."

[Author]

Theo lets out a small sigh, while Knives puts her fingers to her forehead. Sonkei, however, seems quite startled. "I... Um... Excuse me? Is this... A thing with humans? Or... Whatever you call your gnome equivalent?"
Theo laughs at that one.
"Half. Ling."
"That... Just sounds like something humans call you."
Knives narrows her eyes.

[Artemis]

Eve shakes her head, the laughter slowly dying. "Anyways, moving on before you two kill eachother... what exactly brings one of Mab's chosen hunters out here?"

[Author]

"Well my family has been surface dwellers for a few generations,"
"As opposed to dwelling where, underground?"
"No, as opposed to Faerie," Theo and Sonkei say in unison.
"What that's a place now?" Knives asks incredulously.
Sonkei pauses for a moment and then just smiles. "Yes'" he says, and turns back to Ev. "Anyway, i'm just out to make a name for myself..Speaking of which, i don't suppose you all would care to help me get through the water elemental guarding an enchanted well?"

"Can't be that hard to make a name for yourself as a Felshide adventurer." Evelynn replies, then tilts her head when the catfolk brings up the well."Water elementals Huh? Can we touch them with metal blades? Knives is, understandably, a fan of knives. I would hate for her to miss out on a chance to get wet."

[Author]

"It might do something - i don't supose any of you have magic?"
"Ev and I are clerics i think," Theo says. He and Evelynn once had a conversation about their powers that left Theo questioning that she was also a cleric, because she didn't express the feeling of being connected to and drawing frok the cosmic anima. But he wasn't sure that meant it wasn't possible.

[Artemis]

"I can smack things with glowing light, worked out so far in the past." Ev says skipping over Theo's whisper, though she seems somewhat reluctant saying this. Connected to the world or not... Terra I hope there's nothing special about me.
"We've also had military combat training, together I might add. So we fight well as a group. And I really shouldn't down play just how good Knives is at knives. She's an artist with those things."

A dagger almost instantly appears in her hand for emphasis. "What do we want from an enchanted well anyway?"
"Enchanted water of course!" Sonkei says. "I'm sure we'll be fine with the 4 of us. You can run interference if nothing else."

[Artemis]

"Fuck if nothing else..." Eve places a hand on her shoulder and rolls it, wincing slightly. "This armor is starting to make my shoulders ache and I haven't had a nice bath in weeks. And yes, I would kill for a bath. Even if it ends up being water elementals I kill."

[Author]

-And then combat happens-

Sonkei collapses to his knees, gasping for breath. Ev rushes over to help him, healing his battered body.
"T-thanks," he says, sounding fairly embarrassed.
"Nature's most perfect hunters indeed," Knives says, trotting over to him.
"Fuck off my weapons weren't magical."
"And we all know how cats deal with water."
Sonkei just glares at her, and she returns a wicked smile.

[Artemis]

"Enough." Evelynn commands, her voice tense and on edge. She doesn't necessarily sound angry at Knives, but there is no doubt that she is pissed at the exchange between her and Sonkei. "Rib him after, we still don't know if we are in danger or not. Theo, I layed hands on him but could you check to make sure he's fine? I'm investigating the well, Knives come with me."

[Author]

"Right," Theo says, and moves over to him. But just then, there is the faint sound of applause. A new figure raises out of the pool - a beutiful woman standing on a pillar of water.

"Well done brave warriors, well done!"

[Artemis]

Eve stands and turns to address the... Nymph or dryad by the looks of her. Evelynn's blade rests in her hand, not raised to strike but not sheathed either as this new comer comes into play. "Glad you enjoyed the show, though I'd appreciate it if you didn't toss anymore at us."

[Author]

"No, you have proven your worthiness, why don't you come down and relax in my spring?"

The nymph's offer sounds good. Really good. Nymphs are great, she seems super nice...
Wait...
No... No she doesn't, Ev thinks as her thoughts snap back into place.

[Artemis]

"Forgive the insult, but under what good faith could I trust you to not drown me the moment I dip in? This is a dangerous world, full of dangerous things. You don't survive it by walking into traps."

[Author]

"Naw guys, she, she's cool..." Sonkei says.
"Listen to your felsidhe friend. He surely knows this forest better than any of you~"
"You tried to bewitch us, didn't you?"
"What? No, she wouldn't do that..."

[Artemis]

"Yes, yes she did. Felt it as well. Which means not only can she not promise safe passage, she has no intent on doing so." Eves blade raises back up, resting along the edge of her shield in combat position. "Makes me sad, I really wanted that bath."

[Author]

"Whoa no need for that!" Sonkei says, standing up despite Theo's protest.
"Listen to your friend," the nymph says.
"You damn cat, you were trying to trick us from the get go!"
"It's not a trick!"
"Yes it is, and you're already fallen for it," Theo says. Knives glances at Theo, calming down slightly at his assessment.
