Re: Thread A - The Rusty Dog
Marceline strides back into the bar with confidence and walks up to the dragon.
"We have three of our best steaks on the grill. Anything else you'd like love? Maybe some fish for your kitty? I know mine adores the local catch.

Aurora thinks for a moment and sips the third beer. "What do you say Cedric, want something from the kitchen?"

"Mahi Mahi and Halibut. And some shellfish like shrimp or clams. Might be able to get Luc to whip up some calamari or lobster as well."
Marcy reaches down into a pocket and pulls out a notepad. She holds up a finger, as if to write with it.
"Also, how would you like your meat Miss...?"

Cedric pauses for a second, surprised at the lack of... surprise.
"I'd love to get some Mahi Mahi, thank you."

"I like my meat medium. Why aren't you surprised Cedric can talk?"

Re: Thread A - The Rusty Dog
By now many of the bar patrons have gone back to their usual business. "Weird shit happens in Alexandria," as the saying goes.
Re: Thread A - The Rusty Dog
Marcy scrawls down the pairs orders, oblivious to everything else while she focused on what her clients wanted.
Alright, three medium steaks for the dragon and Mahi Mahi for the talking ca- wait... Talking... Cat...
"I'm... What..."
She places her notepad with the food orders down on the bar, revealing that the notes are written in a blood red ink. She stares at Cerdic for a moment.
"You talk." She says, addressing Cedric as a person and not a pet.

"Cedric used to be human, but then he was going to die and it made me sad. Then I convinced daddy to put his soul in a dog. Well, animals don't live long so poor Cedric here has had a lot of bodies."

Re: Thread A - The Rusty Dog
Cedric sighs. Again. "We we shouldn't just tell everyone that, you never know who might frown upon it. Or go whining for their own immortality."
Re: Thread A - The Rusty Dog
"Don't worry, I won't go asking your daddy for immortality. I like this body just fine. I'll go get these started for you."
Well, I guess it's not that much stranger then Luc. Hopefully he hasn't done much with the steaks.
Marceline walks off towards the kitchen, winking at some of the other patrons as she moves by them.

Out comes the chef, apron and all as he carries the assortment of foodstuffs on a large tray, along with an extra helping of sides. He gives an amiable smile, taking each plate of food and placing it upon Aurora's table one-by-one.
"I do believe someone ordered the steak and mahi mahi? Excellent choices, by the way."

"Oh, thank you. That's more than I ordered, but I am quite hungry. Also, according to my cat, I paid you enough money to own the whole bar, so that's nice. I don't really care. I have more. I'm really just looking for an adventure," she says before snapping up one of the steaks and eating it. "Mmmmm, that's good."

"Well," Cedric says, "That depends on the value of your stock... what's the most expensive alcohol you have?" he asks Luc, personally interested."
Re: Thread A - The Rusty Dog
Marcy smiles at the group from the bar.
"Hey Luc, I'm the pretty one here. You aren't trying to steal my job right?"

Re: Thread A - The Rusty Dog
"And we very much appreciate the donation, a bit of extra food is the least we can do. Compliments of the chef."
His expression turns to one of satisfaction as the blue dragon voices her approval. Diamond be damned, he was happy when people liked his cooking. He then glances between Marceline and the cat, respectively.
"I'm the handsome one, thank you. And for your question, I'm sure our lovely bartender Marceline here would be happy to answer. Wouldn't want to replace her altogether, would I?"
She probably had a better idea than him anyway; he wasn't especially picky with his alcohol so long as it was fruity, and didn't know what they had on hand for spirits off the top of his head.

"I could probably crack open the cask of amontillado... I know some people have killed others over it. It's has a long lineage, the original set was brewed back when it was just elves and dragons walking around. The elves have continued to brew it since and while I don't have an original bottle from way back. I think they ones I have date back a couple thousand years."
Please don't ask how a dock bar has a cask of amontillado, please don't ask how a dock bar has a cask of amontillado.

"Ooooh! I've read that story. Edagar Allen, a priest of Poe, wrote it. You're not going to take me into the cellar to get it are you?"

Re: Thread A - The Rusty Dog
Should have seen that coming
"Oh, you've read Allen? He was a favorite of mine growing up. I tended to pay more attention to his writing then the actual holy scripts... Got me in trouble a couple times with the priests."
Marcy lets out a small laugh before saying "Don't worry, I won't take you into my cellar. I only do that to bad girls... Unless you are a bad girl."
Marceline gives Aurora a small wink at the end, having become comfortable around her new customers.
Really hope these two stick around for awhile... Much better conversationalists then my normal fare

"How many years old??" Cedric asks. "If that's true you've got our payment beat."
Re: Thread A - The Rusty Dog
"Well, daddy says I'm a good girl, so I don't think I need to go into the cellar anytime soon," Aurora says as she finishes her meal. She washes it all down with the third beer. She eyes the mug a bit. "In the usual stories, the hero is at least tipsy on this much beer. Is dragonsfire one of your weaker ales?"

Re: Thread A - The Rusty Dog
Fond memories of the sillier side of her childhood flash through Marcy's mind as she thinks about the bottles below the bar.
"I can't give you the entire cask, but I'd be happy to share a glass or two with you!"
Marcy then turns her attention to the dragon and smiles.
"Most adventurers aren't dragons my dear, but Dragonsfire isn't the strongest we have. Most people like it because of the cinnamon taste and spice, not because it gets them drunk quickly. I can, however, pour you something guaranteed to make you wake up the next morning in a alleyway without pants."
Marcy raises a hand and rubs her forehead. Different, but equally pleasant memories flash through her head this time.
"Trust me on that."

"As much as I'd love to start my grand adventure waking up in an alleyway, I don't think Cedric would be pleased with me. I'll stop the drinking now before it gets bad. Can we just take some of the Amontillado to go? I'm starting an adventure today and I really want to get going. So," she says turning around and speaking to the whole bar. "Where can I find an adventure?"
