"Hey, hold up, real quick."
Before Marcy walks off, Luc takes up the straw hat from the rack and places it back on his head.
"I need a second opinion. Yea, or nay?"

Marcy spins back around and looks at Luc. She tilts her head to the side, imagining him wearing the hat with all the various different colored shirts he owns. "Yea. I think it fits your look really well. I'd be careful, don't want to lose it in the wind... but then again we will be on the boat. Nothing to stop you from waving your hands and having the ocean bring it back to you."
Marceline pauses for a moment, thinking about what she wanted to try and find, then looks up at Luc.
Hey, do you know of any type of armor that could fit underneath my clothing? Kinda like a second skin, but more resistant to stabs and fire? I just don't want to be caught with my pants down the next time some assassins decide I've been living for to long."

She did have a point. Granted, it would be a little annoying grabbing it over and over again, but he could just find one with a strap. Luc takes the hat off his head and looks at it with a prospective expression, then looks up with a shrug as Marcy poses her inquiry.
"Leather sounds like the obvious choice to me. It can be tight-fitting, is definitely resistant to fire, and I'd assume better at blocking a knife than silk. Cheaper than anything magical, too. Oh, and it'd look good on you. Definitely can't forget that."

"Come on Luc, I could make almost anything look good." Marceline says with a smirk.
"That being said, I've actually got a bit of cash stashed away and I'm looking for something magical."

"Well," elf woman says as she walks by, "if you're looking for a second skin, there's always Quicksliver, you know. A metal that's easily reformed by magic, can be enchanted to put itself on for you."

"Well, now that just sounds dandy. See, this is why I like open marketplaces with lots of people. Real easy to find someone who knows something. Thanks lady! Now off to find Magic Armors Express."
Marcy gives Luc a quick glance and says "Meet you on the ship? Or do you still think it's a bad idea for me to be alone?"
Her voice contains no ire or annoyance, simply a question.

"Coincidentally," the woman says, "I recommend 'Second Skin.'"

Marcy nods appreciatively to the woman.

"Eh... we should probably stick together, it's not gonna hurt to play it safe. Give me one second, I think I'm gonna buy this after all. Hey shopkeep, question!"
He turns his attention to the proprietor of the stand, holding up the straw hat.
"You wouldn't happen to have one of these with a strap, would you?"

"Well I've got some spare straps," the person says, "It'll only take me a second to affix one!"

Marceline impatiently taps her foot as the salesmen takes forever to find a strap for Luc's hat. Bored, she starts to look through the hat stand herself and picks out a black, wide-brimmed hat. It casts half her face in darkness, making her bright green eyes stand out against the blackness around them.
"Think I'll take this... I could always do with a bit of shade on sunny days."

The shopkeeper affixes the strap, and Luc&Marcy purchase their new head-ware.

Smiling under her new cap, Marcy points to Luc dramatically and shouts "AND WE ARE OFF!" WHOOOSH!" Then swirls her arms behind like she is wearing a vampire cape and sets off in the direction of Second Skin.

Luc raises an eyebrow at Marcy's bit of theatrics. What were they, the Hat Brigade now? Rolling his eyes with a chuckle, he thanks the shopkeep and follows Marcy, keeping a casual stride as he shoves his hands in his pockets.
