Scene D - Family Reunion

The crew finds a place to dock and enters the town - Save for Phil and Roger. The scale of the city is breathtaking, especially to Luc and Mori... And not so much to Tracy.

On the way in, Tracy recognizes her father's ship and sets out to see if she can find him. With something equivelant to a signant ring to prove who she is, Tracy is able to find out where he is.

And so, after a short look around town (deciding not to split up for the moment, given the city's size), the party finds themselves in the waiting hall of a very large merchant embassy. The ceiling raises and lowers with domes and supports, built of brass and marble. After a few minutes, a few people in aristocratic garb descend a large staircase. Most notable is a middle-aged, brown and black-stripped Catfolk with a certain degree of family resemblance to Tracy. He descends the last steps with slightly greater haste as he sees the party waiting for him.

"Tracy, what a suprise!" He says, raising his arms for a hug as he approaches. "You headed Northwest, what brings you over here?"

[Tracy the Cat]

Tracy runs to her father and gives him a big hug. "Dad! I missed you so much. When I saw your boat at the docks I immediately... oh why am I here? Sorry, I came here with these guys," she says, breaking the hug and pointing to the group. "I'm now a member of a ship's crew, sailing off to lands uncharted. It's all super exciting."

[Author]

"My favorite kind of lands!" He breaks off the hug after a moment and steps back to address everyone else. "I hope my daughter hasn't been too much trouble. My name is Roderick Lathair, it's a pleasure to meet you all."

"Greetings!" Kai says, shaking his hand, "My name is Kai Ishida, this is my sister Crystal."

"Ah, Ishida! Your house produced the most exquisite works - Tracy's sword among them!"

"Thank you," Kai says with a small nod, his enthusiasm slightly faltering.

"Wait..." Troy mutters to himself.

[Mori]

"Oh?" Mori says, intigued by Troy's reaction and Kai's faltering enthusiasm. "What works would these be?"

[Tracy the Cat]

Tracy's face darkens in realization. "Oh, oh dang. I did not connect that until just now. Crap."

[Author]

Kai glances over at Tracy. "Yeeeah,  I... Don't like to talk about it."
"Sorry I brought it up," Roderick says, "just glad to see survivors."
"Crystal has inherited their gift," Kai says. Crystal nods, blushing slightly.
Troy turns to Tracy. "Did... Didn't you say you found that sword somewhere?"
Roderick flashes a cheeky 'whoops' look on his face.

[Mori]

Mori does her best to hold off a smile, laughing internally at Tracy's predicament. However with the greater conversation between Kai and Rodreick she stays silent, mentally filing away notes in her head about Survivors, Weapon enchanters, Tracy's sword... Maaaybe I should wrap up my staff and make it look less important...

[Tracy the Cat]

Tracy gives a smile and pats her father on the back a bit harder than a simple friendly pat. "I did find it in a cave, and my father here identified it for me. Isn't that right, dad?"

[Author]

"Indeed!"
There is an awkward pause.
"Yes well, where are my manners?" Troy comes forward and shakes Roderick's hand, "My name is Troy Hondros."
"Marilynn," Lynn says, "Just Marilynn."

[Mori]

Mori dips her head towards Roderick with a pleasant smile. "Mori."

[Tracy the Cat]

Tracy perks up a bit. "Oh, dad! There's something I need to show you. It's really cool. You just have to promise me two things. First, you can't buy it from us. I don't care how much of a profit you think you can make on this thing. We aren't selling it. Second, seriously no trying to buy it from us. It's not for sale. I don't want a repeat of the time I brought home that puppy that turned out to be a rare breed."

Roderick laughs. "Very well, I promise not to work my magic."
